About Me

Julie Martin, MSW, LSW
Founder + Psychotherapist
Hi, I’m Julie - a midwest transplant, aspiring home chef, proud gen z, and therapist.
I’m passionate about supporting people through the hard and often messy parts of being human… whether that’s anxiety, depression, identity exploration, or simply navigating life’s transitions. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I’m committed to providing affirming, inclusive care where you can show up exactly as you are.
I work with teens, young adults, and anyone who feels stuck in the in-between. Therapy with me is about slowing down, tuning in, and doing the deep work of becoming your most authentic self at your own pace and in your own way. You don’t have to figure it all out alone. We’ll do it together.
Modalities
The main modalities I use are acceptance commitment therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, internal family systems, and narrative therapy.
I am currently in training for brainspotting.
ACT
acceptance commitment therapy
ACT helps you notice difficult thoughts and feelings without getting stuck in them. Instead of trying to "fix" everything, we focus on living in a way that aligns with your values - even when things feel hard.
IFS
internal family systems
IFS is based on the idea that we all have different "parts" within us, aka - the anxious part, the critical part, the caring part... and the list goes on and on. In therapy, we can get to know these parts with curiosity and compassion, helping them find balance so your true self can lead.
CBT
cognitive behavioral therapy
CBT explores the connection between your thoughts feelings, and behaviors. By identifying unhelpful patterns, we can shift how you respond to challenges in everyday life.
Narrative Therapy
you are not your problems
Narrative therapy helps separate the two. Together, we can explore your story, as well as the stories you've been told, and gently rewrite them in a way that feels more empowering and true to who you are.
Brainspotting
**currently in training... coming soon
Brainspotting is a brain-body therapy that helps process trauma and emotional pain by tapping into where it's held in the body, similar to EMDR. It's gentle, deep, and doesn't require you to have all the words.
